Choosing contractors and services

Why do you involve residents in choosing contractors and services?  

Many of our services are delivered by companies that work on our behalf. By involving you in choosing contractors and services, you can influence who does the work, and how they do it. Contractors know that customer satisfaction is a priority.

How can residents be involved?

When we’re choosing new contractor and services, we’ll usually send customers that receive that service a survey to find out what you think. This helps us understand what’s going well, and what could be better. We use this feedback when we invite companies to talk to us about delivering our services.

To pick the contractor or service, we follow a process known as ‘procurement’. This makes sure that contracts are given in a fair and transparent way and that both Hyde and our customers get the best possible service for the money paid.

Resident volunteers can be involved in many aspects of the process, including:

  • project group meetings
  • scoring applications
  • company open days
  • interviews
