Kennington Park Community Centre

Kennington Park Community Centre plans

Communities are just as important as the homes that we build. That’s why we are investing in Kennington Park Community Centre (KPCC). KPCC provides vital services for the area. It is used by community groups including theatre groups, dance classes and for children’s activities and parties.

 The proposal includes:

  • Refurbishing and extending the current building to improve the quality of the facilities and to make the building more energy efficient
  • Replacing 8a Harleyford Street with a new community space and eight apartments for social rent
  • An improved community centre garden.

Proposals

Since last summer we have spoken with residents and users of the community centre to understand what would work for this site.

In March, we have taken a public consultation to gather feedback on the first set of design proposals. You can view the information shared at this event here:

Since March we have taking this feedback on board and have been working with the Community Centre Trustees to develop the proposals in more detail. You can view the working progress images for the site here. Please note these are still subject to change as we continue to refine the design.

Next steps

We are continuing technical coordination with the project team over the coming months, and we are aiming to submit a planning application in September 2024. Works on site will then not start until April 2025 at the earliest.
