Celebrating 40 years of Volunteering week

Posted on 04 June 2024

From 3-9 June we're celebrating Volunteers Week and our staff who have taken part in volunteering. At Hyde we offer all staff 2 days volunteering leave as part of our employee benefits scheme.

Our Digital Communications Apprentice, Priya Saunders recently used her volunteering leave to work alongside Hyde Foundation to help one of our community partners Mama2

Mama babybank update their website and arrange stock in the store.

Priya said: “I’m very grateful that Hyde offer the opportunity for all staff to take volunteering leave and I’m so glad that I’ve helped Mama2Mama. They’re such a good cause and amazing to work with. I gained valuable charitable skills that I can take forward with me for the future”

Mama2Mama are a baby bank based in Woolwich that help mothers in need of baby clothes and essentials. Mothers can get referred by a healthcare professional or contact the charity directly via their website. Hear more about Mama2Mama’s story here.

Lucy Paluszek, Mama2Mama Baby Bank Coordinator said: “I started off by working in the coffee shop downstairs and met so many vulnerable people including single mothers in need which was very eye opening. I decided to volunteer for Mama2Mama full time, and it makes me feel good that I get to help others and give back to the community.”
