An application by Hyde to build 250 new affordable homes in Yapton, West Sussex, has received unanimous approval from Arun District Council planning committee.
The one, two, three- and four-bedroom homes will be a mix of social rent and shared ownership and will be managed by Hyde.
The new homes on the site at Bilsham Road will be extremely energy efficient and have an Energy Performance Certificate ‘A’ rating. They will use less energy, leading to lower utility bills for residents.
We'll also make a contribution towards enhancing the existing play area in the village, as well as providing new play areas and public open spaces as part of the development.
Guy Slocombe, our Chief Investment Officer, said: “We’ve worked very closely with the District and Parish Councils to make sure our development supports the Arun Local Plan, meets local housing needs and respects the setting of the site. I’m delighted our planning application has been approved.”
Hyde bought the Bilsham Road site with outline planning permission in 2019. Work is expected to begin in summer this year.
