Renewing the quality of life in Woolwich

Improving lives for our customers and the wider community

With the incredible support from local residents and the Police, we were able to successfully take possession back of a property in a Woolwich neighbourhood where the occupants had been a source of significant anti-social behaviour for a number of years.

What originally started as a dispute about noise, drunken and rowdy behaviour and reports of cannabis use, escalated in August 2023 when there were threats to life.

Nic Haig, Anti-social Behaviour Service Manager at Hyde, said:

“At Hyde, we do everything we can to support our customers to keep them in their homes and extensive efforts to offer this were met with non-engagement.

We will always balance the needs and rights of our tenants, and equally the needs and rights of the neighbours and wider community. The escalation of behaviour which could put families at risk resulted in our urgent application for eviction, accelerated via the High Courts for speed”

The property can now be offered to a deserving family in need of housing.
