Over the past 40 years, Hyde Charitable Trust (HCT) has transformed the lives of thousands of people
It’s HCT’s 40th birthday on 27 March 2024, and we’re celebrating the difference HCT and Hyde Foundation, our social investment team, have made to thousands of people’s lives and the communities they live in.
The financial support HCT gives Hyde Foundation helps transform lives and neighbourhoods, whether it’s preventing homelessness, supporting people’s aspirations or connecting communities.
The difference in numbers:
In 2023 and 2024 alone, we’ve:
- Supported 22,000 people through HCT and Hyde Foundation activities
- Donated £1.2m in grants to our community partners and customers
- Raised £265,000 through fundraising activity
- Invested more than £4m to support our community partners and our most vulnerable customers
- Beaten our target for social value delivered through our supply chain – with £1.25m so far this year
- Supported community partners to manage our 11 community centres
- Invested in seven new priority areas – Croydon, Greenwich, Harrow, Kent, Lewisham, Peterborough and Southwark.
Lucy Norgate, Hyde Charitable Trust and Fundraising Manager, said: “Social purpose is at the heart of what we do – Hyde goes beyond providing homes and being a landlord. We’re about creating vibrant and sustainable communities, and over the past 40 years HCT has transformed the lives of thousands of people.
“In these challenging times, our customers need our support more than ever – whether it’s tackling anti-social behaviour or helping older people overcome feelings of isolation.
“To mark this special year, and to celebrate, and build on, the work that HCT does in our communities, we’re aiming to raise £20,000 through a series of colleague events, to raise much needed funds to transform even more lives.”
