Our priority is, and always has been, the safety of our customers

As of 1 October, social landlords like Hyde are legally required to install smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms, in line with the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (Amendment) Regulations 2022.

Laura Woodham, our Head of Safer Homes said: “We want to make sure that our homes and customers are safe. Working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms save lives. It’s important that you test your alarms regularly and get in touch with us if they’re not working.”

Carbon monoxide alarms

A carbon monoxide alarm must be installed in every room used as living accommodation that has a fuel-burning appliance (excluding gas cookers).

Smoke alarms

At least one smoke alarm must be installed on every floor of your home where there is a room used as living accommodation.
