Coade Court - building safety

We’ll be posting the latest news for Coade Court, Stockwell customers here, so please bookmark this page to stay up-to-date on the work we’re doing to keep everyone safe.

Latest update - 13 September 2024

We’re working hard to move forward with the remediation works at Coade Court and acknowledge your frustrations.

As soon as the building defects were discovered, we moved quickly to mitigate risks to the building, and have since installed a communal alarm system and completed other safety works.

We wrote to Rydon, the original developer of Coade Court, seeking their commitment to deliver and pay for the remaining works needed, a week after they signed the Government’s building safety repairs developer pledge in September last year.

Rydon has agreed to pay for the remaining works needed at Coade Court. This means we won’t be passing costs onto customers.

This is a complex process. We’re now awaiting the programme of works from Rydon, which we’ll review before works begin. We’ll continue to keep you updated with the progress being made.

Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation.

Resident project meeting

Our next resident project meeting will be held on Wednesday 4 December at midday. Invites will be sent nearer to the date.

Evacuation strategy

A temporary fire alarm system is in place at Coade Court. The fire safety strategy has changed from ‘stay put’ to ‘simultaneous evacuation’. If you discover, or are alerted to a fire, you must immediately evacuate the building.

If you have any questions about the evacuation strategy, please email us at [email protected].
