We’ll be posting the latest news for our Foreshore, Deptford customers here, so please bookmark this page to stay up-to-date on the work we’re doing to keep everyone safe.
Latest update - 23 May 2022
We’ve reviewed the reports provided to us by the fire engineer and compared the findings with previous inspection reports. We’re now assessing the different approaches and strategies for the remedial works.
Removal of the waking watch
Following our latest assessment of the additional fire safety measures, increased testing, and monitoring, we’re now in a position to justify the removal of the waking watch.
The waking watch was introduced as a temporary measure while we installed other fire safety measures at Foreshore. We’ve continuously assessed the need for a waking watch, to make sure we’re following current regulations and guidelines to keep everyone safe in their homes.
However, your building still has a temporary ‘simultaneous evacuation’ strategy. So, if you’re alerted to a fire, you must evacuate the building immediately.
If you require assistance in evacuating the building, please leave your flat and make your way towards the staircase, where the fire service will assist your evacuation.
We’ve written to customers at Foreshore with more information on the additional fire safety measures and we’ve informed the fire service.
If you require assistance in evacuating the building, for any reason, or if you’re concerned about these changes please contact your Property Manager. Alternatively you can contact our Customer Services team on 0800 3 282 282 so we can arrange a call-back.
Project: What we are doing
An independent fire expert has identified compartmentation issues at Foreshore, which meant we had to change the building’s evacuation policy from ‘stay put’ to ‘simultaneous evacuation’, which must be supported by a waking watch. We’re currently exploring options for remedial works.
We will update customers with a programme of works once a contractor has been appointed.
