The leak only happens when the tap is turned on

If water only leaks from the sink when the tap is turned on, it isn’t an emergency. You should report this as a routine repair. In the meantime, please put the plug in and don’t use the sink.

The leak is constant, even when the tap is turned off

If you’re able to catch the water in a bucket or bowl, it isn’t an emergency. You should report this as a routine repair. In the meantime, please put the plug in and don’t use the sink.

If you can turn off the water supply to the sink

If you can stop the leak by turning off the water supply to the sink, it isn’t an emergency and you should report as a routine repair. In the meantime, please place the plug in the sink, and don't use the sink. Find out how to use your inside stop valve to turn off the water supply in this video from Thames Water.
