What to do if your car parking space is taken
If you live in an area where parking enforcement is in place, we understand that there may be times when someone parks in your allocated bay without permission. This can leave you with nowhere to park and may put you at risk of receiving a parking charge notice.
If this happens, please follow the steps below so we can support you and help make sure you are not unfairly penalised.
- Take a photo of the vehicle parked in your bay, including the registration number
- Make a note of the date and time
- Report it to our Customer Services team straight away via MyAccount or call 0800 3 282 282
- We will contact UKCPM to log the issue on your behalf on the same day.
Important information
We recognise that, in these situations, you may need to park elsewhere and could still receive a parking charge notice. We understand that this may feel unfair. While we cannot stop a notice from being issued, following the steps above gives us the best possible chance to support you and help ensure you are not penalised as a result.
Why reporting it matters
It is really important that you report any instance of someone parking in your allocated bay without permission as soon as it happens. This allows us to act quickly and support you effectively.
