School uniform vouchers are on their way
We've now started sending this year's school uniform vouchers
This year, our offer is bigger than ever. We’re now including both primary and secondary school-aged children, as well as Pinnacle customers, so more families can benefit.
When and how you’ll get your voucher
You’ll receive your voucher by the end of June.
- If we have your email address, it will come from The Hyde Group ([email protected])
- If we can’t reach you by email, you’ll get a letter
- The vouchers are sent to the lead tenant.
If you’re expecting an email, check your junk folder and add us to your safe senders list so you don’t miss it.
If your household member details were up to date by the deadline on Wednesday 20 May, you’ll receive a voucher worth £50 for each eligible child.
We could only send vouchers to customers whose household details were up to date by the deadline, because we needed time to process the data before sending them.
Why we’re doing this
Last year alone, the programme supported over 1,000 families with primary school aged children to buy over 8,000 items of school uniform.
As a housing provider, we continue to see the impact that rising living costs are having on families in their homes. New data from the Department for Work and Pensions shows nearly half of parents say they're worried about the cost of buying school uniform for the start of the school year.
Group Chief Executive of the Hyde Group, Andy Hulme, said:
“We know the cost of school uniforms is still putting real pressure on families, including many who are working but are still struggling to keep up with rising costs.
“We also know that children who don’t have the right school uniform can often be reluctant to attend school meaning missed learning days. With over 40,000 children living in our homes, we’re determined to do everything we can to help.
“We’re stepping in with practical support that makes a real difference. By expanding this programme, we can reach more families, support more children and help ease the pressure at a time when it matters most.
“This is about going beyond providing a home. We’re here for our customers and the communities they live in, and that means helping tackle the everyday challenges that affect wellbeing, confidence and life chances.”
Why this matters to our customers
Customers that received vouchers last year said they helped them avoid difficult choices between essentials and reduced financial stress.
Catherine, a Hyde customer who works as a community nurse, said:
“Buying a school uniform each year is very costly. It comes just after the extra expense of the summer holidays, which makes it even harder to manage.
“At the time, I'd already bought uniform using store credit because we just didn’t have the money to pay outright. The voucher meant I could return those items and avoid the extra charges, which made a huge difference.
“It meant we had a bit of money spare for small things, like getting ice creams during the holidays, things we can’t always afford.”
