Hyde completes integration of Arhag in twelve weeks

In what is thought to be the sector’s swiftest integration, we’re pleased to confirm that Arhag Housing Association has formally transferred its homes and services to Hyde Housing Association Limited (Hyde) by Transfer of Engagement. Hyde Group announced that Arhag had joined the Hyde Group as a subsidiary in April.

This marks the final formal phase of the integration meaning that Arhag customers now benefit from Hyde’s unique end-to-end service proposition. Key benefits include Hyde’s digital customer services platform, in-house repairs team, and financial stability.

By joining the Hyde Group, which owns or manages around 130,000 homes, Arhag customers will benefit from a landlord that is:

  • more financially robust, with greater capacity to invest in existing homes
  • able to deliver better in-house repairs and maintenance through combined expertise
  • improved customer outcomes including the delivery of faster in-house repairs and improved property compliance
  • committed to a strong local presence in neighbourhoods
  • expanding resident involvement, influence and feedback mechanisms
  • and better able to deliver new homes in areas of high need.

Arhag provides around 1,000 homes across London, with the majority located in the boroughs of Newham, Tower Hamlets and Haringey. The organisation was formed in 1979 as a response to the housing needs of refugees from Africa.

The integration follows consultation with Arhag customers, and the move provides them with stability and the opportunity to benefit from improved services.  The integration has progressed swiftly thanks to the commitment and joint working of Hyde and Arhag colleagues coupled with strong engagement from Arhag customers.
