Work starts on affordable Sittingbourne homes

We’re working with Chartway Partnerships Group (Chartway), plus Homes England and Swale Borough Council, to deliver the homes for social rent and shared ownership at Swanstree Avenue in Sittingbourne.

There’ll be a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes, enabling more people and families to put down roots in Sittingbourne. This will help address the growing need for affordable housing in the area, and create a vibrant neighbourhood shaped by sustainable, community-focused design.

The homes will be built to EPC A energy efficiency standards, with air source heat pumps, solar panels and electric vehicle charging points, helping future residents reduce carbon emissions and manage household energy costs.

Located close to schools, local amenities and excellent transport links, Swanstree Avenue will be a well-connected place to live with easy access to jobs, education and leisure.

The scheme has been carefully designed to reflect the character of the surrounding area, with sustainable drainage, landscaping, play areas, public open space, biodiversity enhancements and new pedestrian and cycle connections, creating a green, healthy and well-connected neighbourhood.

Chartway will offer employment opportunities, apprenticeships and support local businesses during construction.
