Thursday 25 June - Hot weather warning

There may be some temporary disruption to services while we prioritise urgent repairs while keeping our colleagues safe, particularly those working outdoors or in buildings.

We appreciate your understanding and patience while we continue delivering services for customers.

Your rent and service charges are important and making these payments should be a priority

The consequences of not paying your rent are serious and could result in you losing your home. It is essential that we collect rent payments to enable us to house more families in need.

If you're struggling with your finances or having difficulty paying your rent, please contact us. The sooner you talk to us, the easier it will be for us to help you and set up affordable payment plans if required.

See our help with rent arrears and benefits page for more guidance.

If a customer falls into arrears and doesn’t talk to us and doesn’t start making any payments, we will follow our arrears policy, which could include taking them to court to repossess their home as well as a county court judgement for the rent arrears debt plus the costs of the court proceedings. Each customer’s situation is reviewed on an individual basis and evicting customers is always our last resort.

If you would like to seek independent legal advice, you should go to the nearest Citizens Advice Bureau, law centre or firm of solicitors. Further information can be found at Shelter and Citizens Advice.
