Support for our apprentices

Posted on 16 May 2023

On 10 May we held our first discussion group for apprentices. It was a space for apprentices to share opinions about their journey so far, meet other apprentices in the business and communicate about experiences and queries in-person.

On the day, apprentices also heard from three key speakers: Andy Hulme, Chief Executive Officer, Megan Brand, Digital Communications Apprentice, and Grace Rodney-Powell, Learning & Development Manager. Both Andy and Megan spoke about their own career journeys and what they’ve learnt along the way whilst Grace talked about the opportunities available to apprentices whilst they’re on the course.

Megan Brand, Digital Communications Apprentice, said: "This discussion was a great opportunity to allow apprentices to use their voice to improve their experiences whilst working here, and to benefit future apprentices. We received some great feedback from the day, and I'm looking forward to the next one."

This is just one of the ways our apprentices are offered support during their programme, which can last up to two years in a variety of areas across the business including: Trades, Business Admin, Customer Service, Communications, IT and Data. They also have access to an apprentice buddy who has been a previous apprentice at Hyde, mentoring and paid time to do their studies alongside achieving a Level 3 or 4 qualification at the end of the programme.

Applications for this year's apprenticeships will open in the summer.
