A huge congratulations to our Successful Tenancies team which has won another award for our Universal Credit (UC) Helper. The team scooped top prize in the recent Institute of Money Advisers (IMA) Money Advice Awards 2022, where it won the ‘Innovation and Impact Award’.
Our UC Helper is designed to support people applying for UC for the first time, so they can get the financial support to which they’re entitled. The team played an important role in designing the tool, along with input from frontline staff and customers.
Kerry Starling, our Communities and Social Impact Director, said: “Universal Credit is notoriously difficult to find your way around – it can be complex and overwhelming. The UC Helper is a ‘friendly companion’ – it includes a checklist for customers so they can track their progress, as well as helpful tips for each stage of the process.
“We also wanted to come up with a solution that could be adopted across the sector, and more than 100 organisations have now created their own version of the tool. This is an incredible and well deserved win for the team and I’m so proud the tool is getting the recognition it deserves.”
The IMA is the professional body for money advisers and the awards ‘recognise excellence and innovation in the field of money advice’.
