Building stronger relationships in Stockwell

Posted on 26 March 2024

At Hyde, we want to build stronger relationships and get closer to our customers and the communities we serve.

That’s why we’re delighted that more than 150 of our customers in Stockwell have come out to our drop-in session since they began last June.

The sessions have provided an opportunity for customers to speak to us directly about their Hyde services, whether it's help with their service charges or advice around damp and mould.

Liz Oliver, Director of Safer Homes and Neighbourhoods, said: “Our drop-in sessions have been really popular with local residents - and it’s great to be able to support them with their queries and concerns. I’m so pleased that we’re building our relationship with the Stockwell neighbourhood.

“We’re aiming to hold these sessions monthly, to address residents’ general concerns and offer advice and support.”

Avid Stockwell volunteer and Hyde customer Lawrence said: “I attended the first session back in June and have been coming ever since.

“I find the sessions really good as you get to speak to someone face to face and they follow up with your query. I was doing some work on my flat and needed to confirm something for my contractors. I came to the session and spoke to my Neighbourhood Officer – and would you believe, the response was in my email inbox the very next day!”

Lawrence encouraged his neighbours to attend the drop-in sessions. “It’s so much easier to speak to someone in person than over the phone. Hyde is out in the community doing the work. There’s no point complaining about the service, when they’ve created the opportunity to speak to them face to face about it – you don’t use it.”

Managing our homes

In January, we launched our Neighbourhoods and Specialist Housing Service - a new way of managing our homes that will see us becoming closer to our neighbourhoods.
