It’s the most wonderful time of the year

A huge ‘thank you’ to our social value partners who raised over £25,000 for our communities and individual customers, meaning that our most vulnerable residents have a Christmas meal this year.

Over the last three years, our generous social value partners have provided us with funds to support households at Christmas. These are households struggling with multiple complex needs including financial hardship.

The cost of living crisis has meant that we’ve had a 30% increase in requests for support throughout the year. So, on top of the amount that our supply chain partners pledged, we worked with the Big Give Christmas Challenge to secure support from other businesses, who also want to directly support those in our communities who need it most.

Over £5,000 was raised through the Big Give, amounting to a grand total of £30,000 being raised which will pay for at least 500 Christmas meals. This will help ensure our most vulnerable customers (nominated by teams across Hyde) have a Christmas meal this year.

Nimi Shephard-Patel, Hyde’s Fundraising Manager, said: “Thank you so much to our social value partners and everybody who got involved in our Big Give Christmas campaign. Christmas might be the most wonderful time of the year for many of us, but this year in particular has been a challenging time.

“Thanks to the support, some of our most vulnerable customers will have a proper Christmas meal. We didn’t quite get the Big Give fundraising target this year, but we’ve got a place to start from next year. I’m looking forward to seeing how many more families we can help give some festive cheer to.”

Our social value partners involved were:

  • Ian Williams
  • Alpha Track Systems
  • Huws Gray
  • Wates
  • Just Ask
  • City Plumbing
  • Martin Arnold
  • Churchill Hui
  • Michael Dyson

And ‘thank you’ to representatives from Philip Pank, Manfield and BPM who also supported our campaign.
