Thank you to Avon for making Christmas so special
A huge ‘thank you’ to cosmetics company Avon, who donated over £6,000 worth of products to help vulnerable women and their families this Christmas.
Our Board Member, Karen McElhatton, was so impressed with our ‘Help a Mother Out’ campaign, that she wanted to get involved. Our campaign works with the Rotary Club in Chichester to provide Christmas sacks to vulnerable women and their families, many of which are Hyde customers. The Christmas sacks are filled with essential items for women, and Christmas treats for their children.
For Christmas 2023, Karen introduced our Fundraising Manager Nimi Shephard-Patel to a contact at Avon, and Nimi managed to secure £6,000 worth of Avon gifts. The gifts were then distributed to the Rotary Club, who once again put together Christmas sacks. The sacks were then distributed to local vulnerable families, and our womens’ refuges - meaning that we reached further than just Chichester this year.
Thanks to Hyde colleagues, the sacks were organised and delivered to all locations.
Our Advice and Advocacy Adviser, Melanie Smith said: “I delivered some sacks this morning and had tears from one lady. She was so relieved that her children would have something to open on Christmas day, she could hardly speak. It was very humbling. Thank you to everybody that donated and helped make Christmas so special for these families.”
