Join Islington’s Big Packington Dig Days

Posted on 20 May 2022

Are you looking for a fun idea for volunteering? Then look no further and join Islington’s ARC Community Centre and Islington Council in planting a whopping 4,000 plants and trees on the Packington Estate. William Morris and Ruth Wilmott Associates will be donating the greenery after the Chelsea Flower Show at the end of May.

Sessions are taking place between 8am and 5pm on Monday 30 May, Tuesday 31 May and Wednesday 1 June in different locations across the Packington Estate. Meet at Packington Square or Union Square where you will be greeted by the Parks team or ARC staff.

You can just come along for a few hours or the whole day. All tools will be provided, just bring appropriate footwear and some gardening gloves if you have them.

Maddassar Arif, our Successful Places Projects and Partnerships Manager said: “The Big Packington Dig Days are a great way for our customers to take on a challenge, meet new people, and make a real difference to the Packington Estate – making our communities even more attractive places to live. You don’t need to have green fingers to take part, just lots of enthusiasm.”
