Spreading some Christmas cheer

Some of our most vulnerable customers will have a happier Christmas, thanks to generous donations from our supply chain partners

A massive thank you to Jenner Construction, City Plumbing, Alphatrack and Calfordseaden, who together donated £26k to support customers this Christmas.

Part of the money has paid for £50 shopping vouchers, which have been sent to customers who’ve received support from us this year, or people we think would benefit from a bit of extra Christmas cheer.

The rest of the donations will be for customers in our Later Living schemes. As well as shopping vouchers, the money will pay for things like decorations, gifts and raffle prizes, Christmas lunches and social outings.

Felicity Hunt, Hyde’s Communities and Social Impact Director, said: “Thanks to the kindness of our suppliers, customers will be able to have a merrier Christmas.

“The ongoing cost of living crisis means many people are struggling to pay for the essentials. Last year, for example, we distributed 1,411 shopping vouchers worth £126k to customers who were struggling with the cost of food. That’s why donations like these are so important.

“We’re also using the money to help older people, who can often feel isolated at this time of year. These donations will help them engage with their neighbours and have a bit of fun, which will of course support their wellbeing.”
