Overwhelming response to our school uniform campaign

Thanks to customers updating their household details, we’re supporting even more families

School Uniform Children

We know that the school holidays can be expensive and at this time of year, uniform costs can be a challenge for many of our customers. This summer, we’ve emailed or texted thousands of vouchers to every Hyde customer with primary school age children. Each voucher is worth £50 per child, which can be redeemed online as part of our partnership with Trutex.

To ensure we don’t miss any children out, we’ve asked customers who have a child living in a Hyde home who isn’t listed as a household member, to update their family’s details.

Hundreds of households have already updated their details, to make sure they receive the correct voucher amount. And, thanks to our Tenancy Advisory team, and volunteers from across Hyde who are going through the new household member requests, these details are being uploaded onto our systems and processed. This means we’ll be able to support even more families.

Thousands of uniform items have already been ordered and the feedback from our customers has been overwhelming:

“Thanks for the help towards school uniform. It will really make a difference to me. It costs me at least £400 every summer to get all the uniform together for another year. My eldest daughter needs branded uniform which is very expensive. I’m on benefits as a full time carer to my disabled husband, and with six children, money is very tight. Thank you Hyde for your help.”

Andy Hulme, our Group Chief Executive Officer said: “This is such a great start to our campaign. I’m delighted with what a difference these vouchers are already making and so grateful to our social value partners for supporting this initiative. In the first week alone, we saw vouchers used to support over 700 parents and carers with school uniform for their children. Since then, take up has continued with over one thousand children now benefitting. This is such a big help for so many families.

“So please do look out for your voucher – and encourage your neighbours to do the same.”

If you have a child living in a Hyde home who isn't listed as a household member, please update your family’s details to make sure you receive the correct voucher amount.
