Tower Hamlets Community Housing (THCH) joined the Hyde Group (Hyde) on 1 April 2025 and we’re proud of the investment we’ve made in THCH homes and communities since then.

We’ve committed to spending £60 million over the first five years of THCH joining the group to deliver safe and decent homes and stronger communities.

Andy Hulme, Hyde’s Group Chief Executive Officer said:

“We’ve spent this year listening to our customers living in Tower Hamlets, so we can understand their priorities – improving services, investing in homes, strengthening community connections and delivering real change.

“I’m proud that we’re still local at heart, but stronger together. By bringing colleagues, systems and services together, we’re improving the experience of our customers.

“I’m excited about the impact our investment will have and looking forward to working with customers in Tower Hamlets to deliver what matters to them most.”

From a new local repairs team to improved transparency on service charges, highlights so far include:

Investment in our homes

We’ve made improvements to over a thousand homes already. Major works so far include roof replacement works, improved door entry and communal lighting systems and a new kitchen and bathroom replacement programme.

We’ve delivered a new in-house repairs service

Between September 2025 and January 2026 alone, we carried out more than 10,000 responsive repairs, nearly 1,200 boiler call outs and almost 400 repairs related to damp, mould and condensation.

A real voice for customers

We knocked on nearly 1,200 doors in Tower Hamlets last summer to introduce ourselves to Tower Hamlets customers and understand what matters most to them. We’ve used this feedback to inform how we make improvements in the area.

An easier way to manage homes

More than 25% of customers in Tower Hamlets have already signed up to MyAccount – our free, safe and secure app that allows customers to manage their home anytime, anywhere.

To mark this anniversary, we also reopened the newly-refurbished Minerva Community Centre. This is part of our £1 million investment in our community spaces in Tower Hamlets, giving customers the opportunity to host activities and meet people from their community.
