At Hyde, the safety of our customers and their homes is our number one priority.
Keeping homes safe is about more than just fixing things when they go wrong – it’s about consistent checks, improvements and planning ahead. From gas and electricity, to lifts and playgrounds – here’s how we keep your homes and neighbourhoods safe.

Electrical safety

We carry out regular electrical checks in your home and communal areas, making sure wiring, sockets and lighting are all safe and up to standard.

Heating, hot water and gas

We know that safe heating and hot water are essential in homes, especially as we head into the winter months. Our contractors carry out annual gas safety checks and servicing, making sure boilers and systems are working properly and efficiently. These checks help us fix issues before they become problems, save energy and keep you safe.

Lifts

For many of our customers living in blocks, lifts are an everyday necessity. That’s why we inspect and service them regularly, so they run smoothly and reliably. If there’s ever a fault, our contractors are on hand to get them back in action as quickly as possible.

Water

We carry out water safety checks, including testing for risks like legionella, to make sure the water running in your home is safe to use. This work means you can trust the water coming out of your taps and showers every day.

Playgrounds and shared spaces

We don’t just look after homes. We also inspect and maintain playgrounds and other outdoor spaces, making sure they’re safe, secure and welcoming environments for children and families.

The importance of access

It’s important you let us in to your home to carry out these essential checks when we’ve made an appointment. In some cases, we’re legally required to complete inspections, so if you don’t let us in, we may have to take legal action to gain access. You can always rebook an appointment to a date and time the suits you.

Laura Woodham, our Head of Safer Homes, said: “A safe home is the foundation for a thriving community. By investing in safety, we’re not only meeting our legal obligations – we’re building trust, supporting well-being and making sure our customers feel, and are safe in their homes.”

Safety is a shared responsibility, by working together – our teams, contractor and customers – we can make sure every home and neighbourhood is safe.
