  • How long is the voucher valid for?

The voucher will be valid until 31 July 2026. But, you can only use your voucher code for one transaction. So, make sure you spend as close to the £50 voucher amount as you can.

If you spent more than £50, using the voucher and covering the additional cost yourself, Trutex will refund you using a gift voucher up to the value of the £50 voucher code and any additional costs will be refunded to your payment method. For example, if you spent £55 and returned items totalling £15, Trutex will refund you a gift voucher for £10 and £5 returned to your payment method.

  • What happens if what I’ve ordered comes to more than the voucher amount?

If your uniform comes to more than the voucher total – you can pay the additional cost yourself.

  • I haven’t received a voucher or I haven’t received the correct voucher amount

We’re emailing voucher codes to all households where a primary aged child is included as a household member. If you have a child living in a Hyde home who is not listed as a household member, you can update your family’s details via our website page to make sure you receive the correct voucher amount.

  • What about my children at secondary school, will I get any help with uniform?

This campaign is only for primary school age children.

Some local councils offer grants to help with the cost of school uniforms, especially for families with children transitioning to secondary school. Check your local council website for details.  If they do not have a specific school uniform fund, under the Household Support Fund, councils in England can access funding to help people most in need with the cost of daily essentials, including school clothing.

Many schools also provide help with uniform – access to grants and second-hand uniform shops. Check your school’s website for more information.

You can also look online for grants and financial support from places such as Turn2Us and Lightening Reach.

If you’re worried that buying uniform will make it difficult to pay your rent over the summer, we can help. Call our Customer Services Team on 0800 3 282 282. You can also find financial help and support on our website.

  • I don’t shop online / don’t have access to online shopping

We know that not everybody has access to the internet. Asking friends and family for help can be a good option. You can often get free wi-fi locally, including in libraries and museums.

Online Centres Network provide access to the internet and help using it. Some centres also offer training courses. These services are usually free. Enter your postcode to search for centres in your area.

  • How are the vouchers being funded?

The vouchers are thanks to Hyde Charitable Trust and social value contributions from our partners, including Trutex.

  • Any tips on buying uniform and how to get the best out of my voucher?

Make sure you spend as close to the £50 voucher amount as you can, as you can only use your voucher code for one transaction. You can spend more than £50 and you pay the additional cost yourself.

If you already have some uniform items now, you can use your voucher later in the year – it is valid until 31 July 2026. Or, you might want to think ahead to next year and buy some larger sizes.
