Frequently asked questions

  • What do you do with my data?

We'll hold your details on our database for six months (with your consent).  We won’t share your details with other organisations and we’ll make sure they’re stored securely. We will delete the information after six months – unless you’re still looking for a job. If this is the case, you can ask us to keep them for longer. It’s important that you tell us about any changes to your details so that the information we hold is up to date. For further information please refer to our privacy statement.

  • How long does your recruitment process take?

We try to conclude all interviews within four weeks of our vacancies being advertised. We’ll then make an offer within one week of interviews finishing. Having said that, some roles may take more time; others less.

  • When can I expect to hear from you after I apply?

Once we receive your application, we'll send you an email to confirm that we’ve got it. The email will be sent automatically – you don’t need to reply to it. Our recruitment team will then contact you after the closing date and explain the next steps in the process.

  • What can I expect if I am shortlisted?

If you're shortlisted, someone in our recruitment team will contact you to chat about your application. The aim is to find out more about you and how you feel about working for us. If you're invited to a face-to-face interview, we’ll want to know if you have the skills, qualities and values needed for the role – and for our team. It’s also a chance for you to ask us questions – are we the right organisation for you? We might also ask you to complete some assessments.

  • What can I do to prepare for my interview?

The best thing to do is to look at our website and read up on our organisation: our vision, our values and what we do. It’s also important that you know what talents you need for the role you’re applying for. You’ll need to think about how you’ve demonstrated these in real life, as we’ll be asking for examples in the interview. It might be useful to do a little research on competency based interviews. Most of all RELAX.  Get a good night’s sleep and arrive in plenty of time!

  • If I am unsuccessful, can I request feedback?

Yes, we’re happy to provide feedback at any stage of the process.

  • What’s the career progression like at Hyde?

If you’ve got the talent and drive, we’ll do our best to help you develop. We take an individual approach to career development and have a structured review process in place which will give you every chance to build the career you want.

You can also gain experience through a secondment or by joining a project team. Opportunities for both are accessed via our Hyde Academy which deliver talent programmes, offers sponsorship for professional qualifications, runs leadership programmes and delivers our successful early careers programme.
