Eligible residents will have the opportunity to vote on Hyde’s Landlord Offer in October 2025, which will set out our regeneration proposals.
The ballot will be run according to Greater London Authority (GLA) regulations and will be managed by Civica Electoral Services - an independent agency, not Hyde.
A ‘yes’ ballot will require a simple majority of votes. All voting will be anonymous and can be made via post, telephone or online.
Timescales
The Landlord Offer will be published in September 2025, in advance of the ballot. The Resident Ballot will take place in October 2025 and will run for three weeks. Results will be made available by early November 2025.
Who’s eligible to vote?
The GLA sets the following eligibility criteria.
Residents aged 16 or above, who fall into one or more of the following criteria are eligible to vote:
- Social tenants (including those with secure, assured, flexible or introductory tenancies) named as a tenant on a tenancy agreement dated on or before the date the Landlord Offer is published
- Resident leaseholders or freeholders who have been living in their properties as their only principal home for at least one year before the date the Landlord Offer is published, and who are named on the lease or freehold title for their property
- Any resident whose principal home is on the estate and who has been on the council housing register for at least one year, irrespective of their current tenure.
The following are only eligible to vote if they have been on the local authority housing register for more than one year:
- Tenants whose landlord is not a Registered Provider or Local Authority (eg private tenants)
- Homeless households living in temporary accommodation
- Any household member (eg adult children) who is not named as a tenant.
The following are not eligible to vote:
- Non-resident leaseholders and freeholders
- Resident leaseholders or freeholders who have been resident for less than one year (unless they were on the housing register beforehand)
- Non-residential tenants (for example, businesses).
