Phoenix Community Centre plans

Communities are just as important as the homes we build. That’s why we’re investing in Phoenix Community Centre. The Phoenix provides vital services for the area. It is used by community groups including the Phoenix Food Shop, art workshops and yoga classes.

Our proposal includes:

  • Upgrading the community centre on the ground floor and introducing a community café
  • The community centre will be leased to the Food Hub group, who’ll manage the space
  • Converting the first floor into an office space for Hyde staff.

The community centre will provide a flexible space for a variety of local user groups, including:

  • Food hub operating one day per week, with the potential to increase to two days
  • Youth groups such as the Tarner Project
  • Breakfast clubs
  • Art workshops for families and older residents
  • Cooking classes
  • Hall hire for community and private events
  • Yoga classes
  • Table tennis.
