Bolanachi Building - building safety

We’ll be posting the latest news for Bolanachi Building, Bermondsey customers here, so please bookmark this page to stay up-to-date on the work we’re doing to keep everyone safe.

Latest update - 23 May 2022

Kier is removing the combustible timber at Bolanachi in the internal and external courtyard. The external courtyard has been completed and all scaffolding has been removed. The timber replacement in the internal atrium has completed and is currently being signed off and snagged by Kier.

The scaffold strike started the week commencing Monday 9 May. All timber replacement works are due to be completed by the end of May.

Building Safety Fund application

We’re still waiting for a decision on the outcome of our Building Safety Fund application. We continue to meet with the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, but decisions continue to be delayed due to the volume of applications. We’re sorry, but this means we still can’t tell you when we’ll find out if we’ve been successful and, if we are, how much funding we’ll receive. We’ll update you as soon as we know more.

The Building Safety Fund Leaseholder and Resident Service

Government is publishing updates on how Building Safety Fund applications are progressing in the third week of each month on Building Safety Fund Leaseholder and Resident Service website pages.

Customers must use a code unique to their building to access the service. We’ve shared this code with customers and can share it again via email, on request.

Please check the Bolanachi Q&A document (PDF, 555KB), which has the answers to many of the questions being raised by customers on the building safety issues.
