The Hyde Charitable Trust (HCT) supports the aims and objectives of Hyde's community investment team by focusing its grant making activities on:
- PEOPLE: Supporting people in their time of need, through improving access to and delivery of local services, and provision of individual household support.
- PARTNERSHIPS: supporting community organisations to achieve more with local expertise, knowledge and tailored capacity building, drawing on a range of grants and funding options to ensure the long term sustainability of their work.
- PLACE: Supporting a whole place approach in new and existing Hyde communities, by using our funds to tackle local priorities and channelling our resources to where it’s needed.
Communities Fund
Our Communities Fund is currently open for invited organisations only and we don’t accept unsolicited funding requests.
The key priority for this fund is to support our community partners to continue delivering existing and/or develop new provision that meets an identified need in Hyde communities. We offer up to 3 years of funding and applicants can also include ideas for organisational and/or financial sustainability which they would like to test throughout the grant.

The key priority for this fund is to test new approaches to working with Hyde residents, teams and networks.
Update for 2025: at present we are focusing on supporting our partners from the first 4 rounds of the Evolve Fund. We do not have any plans to run a new round of the Evolve Fund this year, but we will publish any updates here

Internal grants
The following funds allow Hyde staff to apply for funding on behalf of residents:
- Helping Hand Fund – supports Hyde residents who are experiencing a financial crisis and/or needing additional support (lacking certain goods or services) by addressing a short-term crisis.
- Resident Assistance Budget Fund – helps to address challenges faced by Hyde residents who would otherwise face enforcement action or complaints if left unresolved.
Grant changes guidance
We understand there may be occasions when our grantees cannot deliver their programme as planned. For those instances, we’ve written a guidance that explains the process of requesting and approving such change.
We know that things can change during the lifetime of a grant – from changes at a government/national level that might affect the way our funded partners are able to deliver, to organisational changes that require our funded partners to think differently about how they will continue to deliver their work. We are committed to supporting our funded partners throughout the lifetime of their grant and if things change we want to work with them to find solutions that work for everyone. Our grant changes process supports our funded partners to make changes, and we aim to be flexible and supportive with any requests we receive.

Beyond funding
We focus on building long-term relationships with our funded partners and various stakeholders in the Hyde communities. Our team of experienced Project and Partnership Managers play an active role in various local and regional networks and acts as an important link between HCT and Hyde communities.
We're committed to learning from our partners and we use feedback and learning from our monitoring forms to help us review what we do and how we do it.
We're also committed to adopting more open and trusting grant-making practices and have been part of the open and trusting community of grant-makers since 2022.
We work closely with our funded partners and offer them additional support where possible. This support includes help with fundraising, organisational development, evaluation and communications. We also tap into the resources within the Hyde Group and link our partners with teams across the business to directly support their delivery and also to provide support through our staff volunteering programme.
