Homes for Brighton & Hove, our partnership with Brighton & Hove City Council, received planning approval to build 306 homes on the northern part of the former Sackville Road Trading Estate in Hove, subject to completion of a Section 106 agreement, in November 2025.
The scheme is intended to be delivered as 100% affordable, including 183 council rented homes and 123 homes for shared ownership, subject to confirmation of Homes England grant funding.
The homes will be highly energy efficient, using solar PV panels to reduce energy costs for residents, who will also receive subsidised bus and rail passes, bike vouchers, Beryl bike credit and/or car club membership, to encourage use of sustainable travel.
There will also be new car club bays, electric vehicle charge points and extensive cycle parking. Proposals include landscaped courtyards with doorstep play equipment, seating and community growing space, together with access to Hove Central’s proposed shops, cafes and offices.
We’re targeting construction to start in early 2026 and for the homes to be completed in early 2029.
