Hydewide Residents Eye – Hyde’s resident-led inspection committee – has now completed their second inspection of the financial year. The inspection was of Hyde’s Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) service, which was restructured in January 2017.

The outcome of the inspection is a report and set of recommendations which have been signed off by senior managers and our Group Housing Services Board. The action points within the report are already being progressed, and will aim to bring the following service improvements:

  • Improvements to the process by which ASB cases are passed from the Customer Services (CS) Centre to the specialised ASB team. This will include building a better understanding of what is, and isn’t, ASB and more sharing of guidance and good practice around the best ways to handle a report of ASB
  • Improved awareness amongst residents of how we deal with ASB and what sort of issues we can assist with. This should lead to more realistic resident expectations and consistent reporting, and will include better promotion of the online toolkit
  • Improved satisfaction with the mediation service, to include: enhanced levels of support and aftercare, improved communications and more robust reporting of outcomes back to our staff
  • Improved clarity of ASB communications, including template letters and the website. The ASB team will work with residents to make sure that all ASB comms is up to date and resident approved
