Kennington Park Community Centre (Lambeth) – update June 2017
In February this year we announced that, following our consultation at the end of last year, we would be progressing with our recommendation to stop directly managing the community centre. We also announced that because the current development plans would need to be revised in light of this recommendation that we would implement an interim recommendation to work with the local community to explore how the centre can be kept open and available for community use over the next 12 months, while development plans are reviewed.
Since then we have been working closely with the tenants and residents association (the TRA) to put in place an interim management arrangement. From 1 July 2017 the day-to-day management and operation of the community centre will be managed by the TRA. Hyde will continue to employ a key holder for the centre, be responsible for making payments for costs such as utilities and processing payments for the use of the centre.
