Moving home

Moving in to your new Hyde home

When you move into your new home, you can expect that we will ensure it meets certain standards.

The first day that you move in, take meter readings for your gas, electricity and water and contact your supplier to tell them your meter reading.

You are responsible for insuring your possessions, including carpets, curtains and flooring. There are many policies available, such as the My Home scheme for low cost home contents insurance.

When agreeing to a tenancy or buying one of our homes, we will ask you for some personal information. To see how we use your information, read our privacy notice. For further information on why we collect some of your data, please see the CORE (COntinous REcording of Social Housing lettings and Sales) CORE privacy notice (PDF, 166KB).

Moving out of your home - ending your tenancy

If you wish to end your tenancy, you'll need to give us the correct notice period for your tenancy type (either weekly or monthly), in writing by completing one of our online notice to quit forms below. The notice period for weekly tenancies is four weeks from the Monday following the date we received your notice to quit. The notice period for monthly tenancies is one calendar month from the date we received your notice to quit. However, tenancy agreements may vary so always check your individual agreement for details.

If your rent is charged weekly to your rent account, you must complete the weekly notice to quit.

If your rent is charged monthly to your rent account, you must complete the monthly notice to quit.

Please make sure you complete the correct notice to quit form so that your notice period is not delayed.
