Our parking services will change on some London estates from 1 April 2025

From 1 April 2025, our parking services will change on the following estates:

  • Ringcross Estate
  • The Bridge Estate, Stockwell
  • Grove Estate, Islington
  • Stockwell Gardens (East and West)
  • Kennington Park
  • Hyde Village
  • Packington Estate
  • Studley Estate

We’re changing the way UKCPM will manage our car parks to make it easier, fairer and also cheaper for the majority of residents.

These changes are based on customer feedback and will also offer improvements for Blue Badge holders and key worker groups.

Key changes to parking permit pricing:

  1. Permit pricing adjustments

  • Lower emission vehicles e.g. those that are ULEZ compliant: Will be charged at £90 per year for the first car.
  • Hyde social rent tenants: Social rent tenants will receive a 20% discount to permit costs. This means that for social residents with a ULEZ complaint car, the cost of an annual permit reduces to £72 per year for the first car.
  • Additional vehicles and cars that are not ULEZ exempt: To give residents fair access to parking, we will be increasing the permits for second cars, and non ULEZ complaint cars, to £200 per year (regardless of tenancy type). We do not normally issue more than two permits per home, but in instances where an exception is made, additional vehicles will be charged at our commercial parking rate which is currently £250 per year.
  • Motorbikes- we don’t charge for motorbike parking, but motorbikes will be ticketed if not parked legally.
  1. Blue Badge holders will receive free permits

  • The Blue Badge scheme covers public highways and not private car parks. However, to improve services to disabled residents, the first permit will be free to Blue Badge holders where the vehicle is registered at the home address. Second permits will cost £180 per year.
  1. Key workers will receive free permits

  • Residents who are NHS staff, police staff, fire brigade staff, qualified teachers, or members of the British Armed Forces will no longer pay for their first parking permit. Second permits will be charged at £180.
  1. Improved visitor and carer access

  • Visitors: We’re aiming to increase access to visitor permits.
  • Carers: Our new parking app will make it easier to access passes for carers.
  • Taxi and delivery vehicles: Will continue to benefit from a grace period to ensure parcels etc. can be delivered to your home.
  • Emergency vehicles: These vehicles will remain exempt from tickets during active service and we recognise that they may not always use a marked bay.

Why we’re making these changes

As you know, there can be a shortage of parking on our estates, and we want to ensure it remains accessible, fair, and efficient for all residents. The changes being introduced offer a discount when compared to street parking in your local authority area. And, the majority of our customers will pay less to park in our communities, as a result of these changes.
