Hyde’s employment support service has again been recognised for its careers advice and guidance, with an award of the Matrix Standard.
“The Matrix Standard is a quality framework for organisations to assess and measure their information, advice and guidance services, looking at how effective they are in supporting people to achieve their goals,” explained Maggie Houghton, Hyde Foundation Programme Manager.
Our employment support team is part of Love London Working (LLW), a partnership of 13 housing associations in London that aims to help unemployed people over the age of 16 into work. The team helps residents with job applications, CV writing and interview practice.
Adegoke Ayooland is one of its recent successes. He heard about LLW during a visit to his local Jobcentre. Adegoke, who had been unemployed for a long time, was put in touch with Hyde employment advisor Roland Tamas, who supported him in successfully applying for a job as a warehouse assistant.
Adegoke said: “I didn’t have a lot of money and was seriously frustrated [with not finding work]. Roland has shown me nothing but respect, enthusiasm and empathy. With his help I managed to find my way back into employment.”
Maggie added: “Employment support services like Love London Working are an important resource for our residents. They offer training opportunities, financial support, help people to develop key skills such as IT, and provide work-related training. Well done to Roland for his commitment to supporting Adegoke.”
