On Monday 27 June residents from all three housing providers involved in the merger talks got together for the first time, to learn about each other’s organisations and to start discussing possible ways forward for resident engagement.
Attendees shared details of the different resident involvement structures currently in place and identified the most effective activities that should be continued should the organisations join together. They also took part in an interactive workshop to feed into the values of the proposed new organisation. For this they looked at the ideal behaviours they want to see from staff, how communications should work, and identified the key ways they want to relate to the new organisation should the merger go ahead.
The meeting was a very productive and optimistic session. Everyone left feeling that we have a great deal in common and with a commitment to work together to create the most positive outcome for residents from the merger as possible.
