We held our first Building Panel Safety meeting on Tuesday 6 July.
The panel has been established to talk about our approach to building safety and how the changes in legislation will shape our services in the future.
The panel is made up of eight resident volunteers (who were recruited via a selection process) and key colleagues from our Property Directorate. The panel is also supported by our Customer Involvement team.
In the virtual meeting, Neal Ackcral, Interim CEO welcomed the new panel and emphasised how this was a unique opportunity for Hyde to co-create services in partnership with our customers.
The Building Safety Panel will hold formal quarterly meetings, ad hoc workshops and discussion sessions. There is also a dedicated forum on the OAK, our customer involvement website.
The panel’s work plan will include:
- customer communication and engagement around building safety
- how our new Building Safety Manager role will work
- feedback on our formal engagement structure via Customer Voice (our group of Hyde customer volunteers)
Liz Oliver, Safer Homes Director said: “I’m really excited about working with the panel. Their input will be essential in helping us deliver building safety services in the way that works for customers as well as for Hyde. It was a great first meeting and I’d like to thank everyone involved.”
