Our new film shows how the Hyde Quality Standard is transforming residents’ homes
Hyde residents Sue and Arthur had a new kitchen installed in their home earlier this year and generously agreed to have the entire process filmed, to help explain to others how the Hyde Quality Standard (HQS) works.
The new film shows how Sue worked with Property Services Contract Manager, Jon Willis to design the kitchen and decide what fixtures and fittings she wanted, through installation, to the final, stunning result.
The new kitchen is “amazing”, Sue said. “It’s so beautiful and has that ‘wow’ factor."
Jon explained that it was important for residents to be part of the entire process. The HQS gives residents increased pride and a sense of ownership of their homes,” he said.
“We are giving residents far more choice than is normal in the sector, giving them the opportunity to pay to upgrade certain items or to supply their own, fitted at no extra cost. We believe that, just because you live in social housing, it does not mean you can’t have a nice kitchen or bathroom.”
