Our new cleaning and gardening contracts will offer better services to residents. Phase 1 contracts went live on 1 May 2016 and phase 2 on 1 July.
“These first two phases have seen the number of contractors fall from around 70 to just six across London and the South East, covering 18,000 homes and about 60,000 customers,” explained Paul Singleton, Director, Business Improvement.
“Having just six contractors - Just Ask Services, Hi-Spec Services, Cleanscapes, Groundscapes, CGM and New Green Services - means monitoring of performance will be far easier and service quality should rise. And, by being clear with customers about what work is being done, when and by whom, customer satisfaction should also improve. Early indications are that work is going well.”
Fewer contractors also means far fewer invoices received by Hyde, about 70 a year, rather than 12,000 under the previous contracts, and a move towards automation of ordering and payment processes. Overall, the contracts awarded to date should save over £500k annually, giving residents better value for money, Paul added.
“The success of this major project is down to the excellent collaboration between the Housing, Procurement and Projects and Transformation teams,” Singleton said. “The contribution of the Resident Procurement Panel should also be highlighted. The panel members gave an enormous amount of time to shape the project, from writing the specifications with us to interviewing and selecting suppliers.”
The final phase of the cleaning and gardening contracts will go live in Autumn.
