We recently refurbished twenty flats at Woodfield Park, Emsworth and residents are over the moon with the results.
The flats, which were originally built by the MOD and transferred to us as part of a stock transfer with Chichester District Council in 2001, have been extensively refurbished as part of a regeneration plan for the area. Residents living opposite these properties have now moved into these transformed homes and the final two flats to be refurbished will complete in September.
Austin Wade, Hyde Construction Project Manager said, “Initially some residents were reluctant to move but after we demonstrated the extent of the refurbishment plans, they were pleased for everything to go ahead.”
He continued, “We’ve done a great deal of work at these properties from installing new heating systems, kitchens, bathrooms, and quality flooring. Gardens have been freshly turfed, new fencing erected and sheds replaced where needed. The homes are finished to an excellent standard and we are really pleased the residents are happy in their homes.”
Woodfield Park resident, Bob Stone said, “I was quite anxious at the start because there were lots of rumours surrounding what was happening with our homes. I’ve lived in the area for 17 years and was nice and settled in my flat. I didn’t think Hyde could replicate what I had, but where I live now is brilliant, there is no comparison. Having the extension means I have so much more space. I’m very interested in woodwork and I can now display my work in my home. I couldn’t be happier.”
Housing Officer, Jane Taylor said, “Moving can often be stressful and we wanted to make it go as smoothly as possible for our residents. We’ve made every effort to make sure we delivered on what we promised and the feedback from residents demonstrates this. We are thrilled with the results and I hope the residents continue to enjoy their lovely new homes.”
Resident Lee McLaren said, “Initially I thought what Hyde was offering was too good to be true. Not only was I moving to a new flat with more space, but I was getting a garden large enough to keep my aviary. I have to admit I wasn’t looking forward to the actual move but Hyde sorted out the removal company and everything was done in a couple of hours. Now I’m settled I’m really happy in my new home, I couldn’t have asked for more.”
