On Saturday 2 April, the newly refurbished Phoenix Centre in Brighton will throw open its doors to the community of Brighton and Hove to join its Spring Re-launch Event.
The celebration event will showcase a wide variety of activities, services and groups that use this community centre, which is located in the heart of the city.
Sean Sheppard, Facilities Manager at the Phoenix Centre, said: "After 12 weeks of extensive updating works at the Centre, I’m delighted to welcome back all our dedicated service users from all over Brighton. We hope to encourage as many local residents as possible to come along to our fantastic new-look centre, so they can literally see the Phoenix rising from the ashes.
"We hope that this event will bring the community out in force and will help engage residents in some of the groups and activities we have going on at the Centre."
The Hyde Group owns the Phoenix Centre and has invested to restore the outside of the building to its former glory, as well as maximising the potential of the internal areas by providing modern and contemporary spaces available for community groups and organisations to hire.
At the Spring Re-launch event there will be a wide range of activities on offer, alongside stalls and demonstrations from groups currently using the Centre. These include:
- Capoeira Brighton
- Bike Maintenance Workshop
- Creative Cooking for Mamma’s
- Mindful Mamma’s
- Make It
- Pavilions Advice Service
- Vajrasati yoga
