More than 50 Hyde staff will be running 13.1 miles at the Big Half Marathon on Sunday 1 March to raise funds for Ambition 2020, a community programme that invests in positive futures for our young residents.
As well as providing homes, we understand that wider support is needed if we are to enable young people to fulfill their potential. We know young residents have been exposed, directly and indirectly, to the recent epidemic of violence across the UK. Through youth work and support, we can help them to pursue their ambitions and reduce the risk of them being affected directly by crime.
We’re already making a big difference – last year, more than 4,400 young people benefited from educational and employability programmes we ran with our partner community organisations. We want to do more – but we cannot do it alone.
We would like to thank all of our partners, and everyone who has donated so far. Their contribution will help these bright young people to see beyond the limitations of their circumstances, helping them not only to improve themselves, but also to have a positive impact on their community and inspire their peers.
There is still time to support our runners! Please visit the Ambition 2020 fundraising page and donate whatever you can for this worthy cause.
