Are you an organisation based in Islington? Do you have an idea for a project that could benefit your local community? Then the Make It Happen fund could be for you.
Our Successful Places Team is working in partnership with local funder, Islington Giving, Peabody Community Foundation, Newlon Housing Trust, and Southern Housing Group. These organisations have come together to create the Make It Happen fund.
The fund will provide grants of up to £500 to groups of residents or small organisations working in the community to buy equipment for their project. This could be equipment for a local gardening club, more mats for community yoga classes or even food and drink to host a community picnic. If it’s something the community can benefit from, Islington Giving will consider funding the project.
Maddassar Arif, Successful Places Projects and Partnerships Manager, said: “This fund will offer projects in Islington a chance to come together to do something that will really make a difference to their community, and help make people feel proud of their neighbourhood. Projects should aim to make residents happier, healthier and more connected.
“If any of our customers know about any community groups who could benefit from this fund, please let them know. We can’t wait to hear about all your brilliant ideas.”
The deadline for applications is Friday, 17 December. To find out more and to apply, visit the Make It Happen fund website.
