This International Youth Day, Hyde Plus is celebrating young people’s potential and highlighting why we trust youth to make a positive contribution to their communities.
Today young people are facing greater challenges than we have seen for generations. Economic pressures and rapid social changes have left many feeling a loss of belonging and a lack of hope and opportunity.
Often young people are viewed by society through a lens of mistrust or seen as being anti-social and lacking in skills. The Hyde Plus Successful Places team challenges this view by working with partners to invest in young people in our communities. We believe all young people have potential but not all have the same opportunities.
We build partnerships at local, regional and national levels, collaborating with others to work for - and with - young people, nurturing their health, creativity, talent and resilience.
Our approach views young people as assets with talents, potential and the ability to make a positive contribution to society. This is why we are part of a cross-sector alliance, A Vision for Young Londoners, and are supportive of the Trust Youth campaign led by the Foyer Federation.
