Graham's Chartered Institute of Housing success

Posted on 04 July 2019

One of our involved residents has recently been successful in completing his level 1 training in social housing, in a course accredited by the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Graham, from West Sussex, has been learning at the Phoenix Community Housing ‘School of Social Housing’ and graduated with 30 other learners from a variety of backgrounds and ages. The interactive course is an introduction to social housing, covering the history of social housing, governance, tenancy, tenure and provision of affordable housing, as well as communication.

Graham, who has been involved for over 20 years in various activities, said: “I am really pleased to have passed this course. A big part of my knowledge of housing came from working with Hyde. I get involved because by having a say, things can improve for many people. There are always two sides, and different people have a different viewpoint, but by listening, understanding and working together as a team we can improve things.”

Robert, manager of our Resident Engagement Team congratulated Graham, saying: “Graham has been a vital member of our resident governance structure over the years and his involvement is hugely valued. Well done to Graham from everyone at Hyde for this achievement.”
