Mike Kirk has formally been appointed as the new Chair of the Board at the Hyde Group.
Officially starting in his new role on Tuesday 5 October, Mike said: “Since joining as Chair Elect six months ago, I've been hugely impressed with the extraordinary people at Hyde and I'm really proud to be able to say, as Chair, that “I am Hyde”. Everyone has been very generous with their time, and I would like to thank Alan for the way in which he has enabled a smooth transition. I've also started the process of working closely with Neal and his team, and look forward to continuing this as we become a truly customer driven organisation.”
Mike takes over from Alan Collett who has been the Chair at Hyde since 2018. Alan said of his time at Hyde: I've been proud to be able to say “I am Hyde, we are Hyde”, and to have served the cause of providing a great home for everyone as a member of the Hyde Board. I should also like to thank all colleagues for their time and assistance over the last nine years. I've enjoyed every minute and learned so much. I wish Hyde every good fortune in the coming years and am sure that Mike will enjoy working with everyone as much as I did.
Neal Ackcral, Interim Chief Executive at the Hyde Group said: “I’d like to thank Alan Collett for all of his wonderful support and guidance as Chair of the Board. Throughout his tenure, he's had a huge impact on us as an organisation and we wish him all the best in his next chapter.
“I’d also like to extend a very warm welcome to Mike – we're very much looking forward to working closely with him as we continue our important aim of providing more people with a roof over their head so they can make a home.”
Mike, who has been the Chair of the Board at Vivid since 2017, has extensive experience in both executive and non-executive roles. He’s provided invaluable services and support for organisations such as Portsmouth Water and Quadrise Fuels International plc, and with a career background in engineering, investment banking, PR and communications, he’ll bring his commercial expertise to Hyde.
