Hyde takes home overall prize at the National Housing Awards

Posted on 06 September 2019

We were named Overall Winner 2019 at this year’s National Housing Awards on 5 September, recognising the impact we are having on the housing sector.

We also won the Best Regeneration Project award, with Rydon Group and PTE Architects, for our Packington Square scheme in Islington.

The judges said: “We would like to praise the winners for their commitment to affordable homes [at Packington Square]. It was great to see so much social rent in a mixed tenure scheme that resists the temptation to capitalise more than necessary on a high value area.”

Our successful working relationship with Rydon at Packington was also recognised, with a highly commended in the Best Partnership category, and our Woodfield Park scheme in Hampshire was shortlisted in the Best Small Development award.

Hyde New Homes, along with Westerhill Homes, was also shortlisted for Best Marketing Campaign for the Evabourne development in Wouldham, Kent.

Guy Slocombe, Hyde Group Business Development Director, said: “We were thrilled to receive these awards. I am so proud of all the work that we have done in developing Packington – a regeneration project that reflects Islington’s vibrant and diverse community. The award recognises how Hyde and Rydon have helped create a progressive regeneration scheme, providing homes with high levels of design and build quality.”

The National Housing Awards are run by the National Federation of Housing to celebrate “success, innovation, creativity and progression in the affordable housing sector”. The awards ceremony took place on 5 September at Grosvenor House, London.
