We are delighted to announce that Hyde Group Chief Executive Elaine Bailey has been chosen to be part of a new steering group led by Dame Judith Hackitt to drive the government’s Building Safety Programme.
Elaine Bailey has been named alongside 14 other industry leaders as part of the newly-formed Industry Safety Steering Group (ISSG) chaired by Dame Judith Hackitt. The panel will be responsible for driving improvements in building safety and cultural change in the construction sector following the Grenfell Tower fire.
The Industry Safety Steering Group will be responsible for reviewing and challenging the progress and action that industry is taking, as well as offering support. The group will also advise the government on possible action to accelerate industry culture change, with Dame Judith reporting directly to the Housing Secretary.
Elaine Bailey said: “I’m delighted to be working with experts from across a number of sectors to radically improve standards across the building sector and hold organisations accountable for the safety of buildings.”
